Single Wides Redux

Saturday night I was doubly blessed.  The opening of my Sketches of Winter show in Taos was boffo and I was awarded first prize in photography for the image Single Wides in the spring juried exhibition at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas. The museum is a real gem and a must see on your way across the great state of Texas.  Among its many surprizes is a room devoted to the Taos masters. Check it out.

Warm thanks to the Midland Arts Association for including my work the last couple of years and especially for the handsome awards.

  4. Hi Steve! I was the juror for the Midland Arts Association Spring Show, and I have to say, the pleasure was all mine to award your "Single Wides" a First Place.
    What a stupendous photograph.
Yours was a First Place, overall, not just in a photography category. Better still, right?
    Congratulations.
    Terminus is superb, also.

  5. Wow! Thanks Leslie. I thought that Cindi Brabec-King's "Dipping Sauce" was Best of Show and that "Single Wides" was first place in photography along with first prizes in monoprint, acrylic and oil. As you say, first place overall is better still. My wife has a group show in San Antonio starting April 1 and we will stop in Midland on the way to see the show. Thank you once again for the kind words and recognition.

May I ask how you found my blog?
