Mirror mirror on the wall

It's no surprise that the previous week's post often spawns the next one.  In this case, Cris Pulos's portrait received several positive emails to which I had to disclose that the subject was less than ecstatic about the image.  In fact, I had posted the aforementioned picture months ago but deleted the offending effort precisely because he didn't like it.  In short, it did not comport with the subject's vision of himself.  The tension between what the camera captures and what the human imagines is not new.  Indeed, disertations have been written on less.

Juma's mug, above, falls in this dubious category.  It drew a heavy yawn at best.  Still it works for me and I am, after all, the final arbiter of good taste and the general wonderfullness of what I publish.

Not all environmental portraits are acceptable to the subject, and not all are highly dramatic. Some, such as this one, communicate a thoughtfulness, a moment in time. That does not indicate diminished significance.

Photographic censorship is a tough one. Volumes could be written. But we keep at it, don't we?

I do consider all the concepts you've offered to your post.
They are really convincing and can certainly work. Still, the posts are too quick for beginners.

Could you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time?
Thanks for the post.

Can I simply just say what a comfort to uncover
somebody that really understands what they're talking about on the web.

You certainly realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important.
More people have to look at this and understand this side of the
story. It's surprising you're not more popular given that you surely have the
gift.
