Cactus Flower

After a week in California you’d think I’d post something from
the Golden State but, alas, the computer gremlins have been in attack mode so I’m
going with something from the archives.
The cactus hails from Ghost Ranch and, since we were just there, the
image seems timely or at least excusable. There’ll be
precious little verbiage with this one since the gremlins have prevailed and I'm retreating to fight another day.
As an ardent student of photography and devotee of the classic black and white photographs by the mid-century masters I practice the medium with an eye toward graceful design. I view each frame as a discreet design project with the objectives of elegance, balance and precision. More images may be seen at www.steveimmelphotography.com.

Startling and brilliant color here, so typical of Abiquiu. A nice spring image!
A photography teacher of mine once said that his greatest fears were fire and flooding as far as his photographs are concerned. In the digital age, it is equipment collapse. Fight the good fight against those gremlins, and may the struggle be very short-lived.
