Point Lobos at the top of California’s Big Sur and just below Carmel Valley is the stuff of photographic legend. On a handful of
visits over more years than I care to disclose I have been skunked but
for these kelp that are jewel-like in their intricacy and luminance.

These photos bring back good memories of scuba diving there, and a reminder of how dense the kelp can be. When the soup is too thick for wide, go tight for great patterns. Great shots Steve.
Tight is right! Love the metallic effect on the bottom image.
Thanks amigos.
Your images of kelp are quite revealing of the character and substance. Big fat, juicy pieces, ready for the taking. I can only imagine scuba diving and how quickly a flipper could be consumed by it, Terry. Thanks for finding the beauty in what many people see as common. That is the test of a true artist!
Aw shucks. Thanks.
