Gropius Lang love child in Riez
Compared to the postcard villages that abound in Haut Var and Alps Haute Provence, Riez feels industrial and shabby. Maybe it's the idle grain silo that dominates the skyline. The silo is a Bauhaus brute in a Fritz Lang Metropolis sort of way. It’s all zoomy and ready to lift off or set sail. Done in black and white the building is brooding and sinister as if there’s robotic forced labor inside assembling a kind of doomsday machine.
